L Ron Hubbard's Music: A Perfect Storm

L Ron wrote bunches of mediocre sci-fi over 50+ years. His masterpiece was Battlefield Earth, written in 1980. Based on the "success" of this book and the fact that he was starting to snare famous musicians in his evil grip, he decided to create a soundtrack for the book. The liner notes claimed that this had never been done before. He also claimed that the use of the, then new, Fairlight CMI synthesizer was used in ways never before imagined. Very futuristic!
L Ron wrote the songs mostly by himself and enlisted help on the recordings from (gulp) Chick Corea and Stanley Clarke. This is a perfect storm: a cheesy book tie-in concept, corny lyrics, melodies and arrangements reminiscent of my Jr. High band, and famous musicians.
Here, for your listening pleasure, is Battlefield Earth (61mb zip).
